2:21 am - I invented Arbor Day.
|
I'm fucking sick of UNT's Administration. Everyone and their brother knows they're going to cancel classes today, but they haven't fucking announced it yet. Because they're tools. UTA announced that they would be closed today before the 10pm news last night. Denton always gets worse weather than the south central Metroplex. Yet they haven't cancelled classes yet. Oh well. I'm going to bed. When I wake up, they'll have made the announcement.

I know you were hoping that my next post would be full of excitement, but no such luck. All in all things are pretty boring. I want to major in Photography. Or become a Chef. I want to live in the UK. Or maybe New Zealand. I'm dissatisfied with things as they are and I'd like to go somewhere else and do something else. If only I were independently wealthy. That would be cool. I should totally win the lottery on Tuesday. I could do all those things with 50 million or so.

 | You scored as Babylon 5 (Babylon 5). The universe is erupting into war and your government picks the wrong side. How much worse could things get? It doesn't matter, because no matter what you have your friends and you'll do the right thing. In the end that will be all that matters. Now if only the Psi Cops would leave you alone.

It's ok. Babylon 5 (seasons 1-4) probably ties with Firefly as my favourite Sci Fi show ever anyway. Plus telepaths, Bonus!

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
Songs I'm currently into:
1) Rest in Pieces - Saliva
2) I've Got A Dark Alley And A Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth - Fall Out Boy
3) Grown Up Christmas List - Michael Buble
4) Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Judy Garland
5) Love Heals - The Cast of Rent
6) Crucify - Tori Amos
7) Piano Concerto No.2 In F minor, Op. 21 - Fredric Chopin
Now it's your turn: sfick, jcoolguy03, alteredmana, cheeser1, , danithesquirrel, and superkilla
If all goes well, I'll soon be the owner of a brand new job at either the Movie Tavern in Bedford or Razoos in Bedford. Here's hoping.

2:49 am - Update
|
Nothing exciting to report. My job search continues. The Movie Tavern can kiss my ass. They have had a "Now accepting applications" sign up forever. You know why? Because the managers are never available to speak to people about their applications, so they never learn enough about people to actually hire them. Suckfest. Hopefully someday I'll actually get to talk to someone there. Other than that, not much. I'm kind of sad I missed the big reunion of my seniors last weekend (or whenever it was), but I always seem to miss those things. Now I guess I should go to bed so I can get up tomorrow and do stuff.
On a WoW note: I created a new character on Chromaggus. Tauren Shaman. I thought it'd be interesting to play on a server that has no high level population and won't have one (to speak of) for a while. I think it should also minimise the annoying aspects of playing on a PvP server as there won't be too many high level people running around killing my lowbie ass for shits. We shall see.
Last thought: It's world AIDS day... Light a candle or something...

If you play WoW and haven't been already, you should really go to this website: Hunter Weapon.
Also, I saw someone with +22 Int on a Defias Rapier in Ironforge today. That's a level 11 green weapon. That makes my soul hurt.

I've figured it out. I'm switching my major back to accounting and my school back to UNT. I hate UTA. Accounting is easier than Biology and I've discovered this semester that I don't love Biology as much as I thought. I also discovered during my summer job that I enjoy payroll/accounting. Since I'm perfectly capable of skipping class at UTA (I skipped classes when I lived on campus at UNT) the drive up to Denton isn't a big deal. I feel much better now. One last go.
I stayed up all night so I could talk about my new direction this morning with my mother. My idea met with approval so forward I go. Actually, at the moment, to bed I go.
On a totally different note: Any problems with me coming up to Denton for a visit this weekend?

I decided to give it one last go. I've decided that I'm 21; I'm an adult by any definition. I need to take responsibility and get on with my education so I can have a life after school. I considered just working for Barnes and Noble or whatever, but between my bills and insurance and food and rent and loans, I woudn't have any money left over really. So I decided to take one last semester to put up or shut up. But I can't register until tomorrow (thursday) and all the classes I need are full. That's almost literally true. Two classes still have open sections. I hate UTA. I never had this problem at UNT. It's like they have only half as many classes as they need. Regular registration hasn't even begun yet, I'm on the tail end of early registration and already all the classes are full. Now I don't know what to do. I'm depressed.

3:23 am - It's that time again.
|
It's time to re-evaluate my life. Once again I've screwed myself by not going to class. That makes 2 semesters and $9000.00 of loan money I've wasted. What I need to do at this point is decide: Do I deserve another chance. Objectively, I'm not sure I do. I'm more intelligent than average, but I'm not sure I even have a HS diploma (I've never checked with TAMS to see if my final grade in physics was good enough to get me my Diploma) and I'm not sure I'm ever going to get even a Bachelor's degree. I've screwed around for something like 3 years now not making much progress. Sure I have some more credit hours (and many more attempted, hello 170 hour rule) but I haven't made any real progress per se.
Another thing to consider is even if I deserve another chance, am I going to do anything different next semester? Honestly I don't know. I'm really about to decide that I need to take a year or so and live on my own with a real job. Maybe after that, I'll be motivated to really devote myself to school.
*Note to prospective responders: Pleas don't reply to this post with a "Why don't you just go to class, it's not that hard" type of post. It serves no purpose except to allow you to blow off some steam. This is my LJ, do that elsewhere. I'm not even sure that I really want any responses. I just needed to type this up and get it out here.

12:16 am - Three Things
|
1. I can hardly wait until November 23rd. I really want to go see RENT. Who'll go with me?
2. I totally fucked my keyboard up today :( I answered the phone, and the cord caught on my glass and spilled water on my keyboard. It no longer works correctly, so tomorrow I need to get a new one. The backspace key doesn't work, the number keys (not the 10 key) do freaky things, and some of the letters (m, and d for sure) type both a number and a letter. So when I hit the d key I instead get 5d....
3. I love Wikipedia. It's so awesome and it covers everything. I used it last week to look up Marvel comic related characters and story arcs while I played X-Men Legends II and I'm using it tonight to do my final reviewing for my Zoology test tomorrow. Simply splendiforous.

1. Reply with your name and I will write something random about you. 2. I will then tell you what song/movie reminds me of you. 3. I will pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in. 4. I will say something that only makes sense to you and me. 5. I will tell you my first memory of you. 6. I will tell you what animal you remind me of. 7. I'll then ask you something that I've always wondered about you. 8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your LJ.

I just finished watching Firefly (yes I bought it). It's so great and I figured I should get done with it before I go and see Serenity. Only 10 more days. I've seen a preview for it and it's a bit more spoilerish than I'd like, but I've heard that the movie is awesome. So, how about I come up to Denton on the 30th after lab and we go see Serenity sometime that weekend and do other stuff? Sound good?
